Raiders of Lost Ark Leather Jacket in Pre-distressed Hide

I've been hooked on the Indiana Jones films since I first saw Raiders when I was 7 years old. At 36, I have finally fulfilled a childhood fantasy by being the proud owner of a Wested Raiders jacket.

I've been wearing my jacket nearly every day since receiving it nearly a month ago and I have to say, this is my favorite article of clothing that I have ever owned. The jacket has had time to start breaking in and the shoulders have started to get that sagging drape that Indy has on screen in Raiders. While this is not the "Hero" jacket, it still tapers nicely from top to bottom and really captures the look and feel of Indiana Jones, while being perfect for everyday wear.

I took my measurements per Wested's recommendations and could not be happier with the fit. If you are not familiar with leather clothing (I was not when I bought mine) realize that this jacket will start to conform to you body with wear. It will be a little stiff at first, and it may not hang off of you exactly how you pictured it on arrival. Give it some time, wear it on your own adventures, and you will love your jacket.

One final note on the color of the distressed hide. It is lighter than Indy's jacket in the movie. Wested's pictures accurately depict this. If you want something closer to that very dark brown go with with the goat or lamb version of the jacket. I went with cowhide because I wanted a jacket with maximum durability that I could really beat up. You can always darken the leather yourself, which is what I intend to do.

And so would anyone else be if they tried to buy Indy's jacket etc from anywhere else . A lifelong fan since seeing Indy back in '81 , i'd always toyed on and off with getting a jacket ( already have ones for X-Men Origins and Blade Trinity ) . I found this website by accident several days ago and decided on the Pre-Distressed " Raiders " jacket , the shirt and the bag , as i already own a Fedora from Herbert Johnsons ( who made them for Raiders etc ) . Being a 5 foot 6" woman , " I Chose Wisely ... " when it came to the measurements ;D . They arrived within days well packaged in a box and everything fits beautifully ( i ordered 40" chest for both jacket and shirt ) ! . There's simply nothing i could fault on any of the items , the jacket is heavy but more than well matched in quality , the shirt and bag both well made too :) . I'm hoping to wear them all with pride for my dream trip to Egypt sometime in the future ( Cairo included ) , but in the meantime they'll get hung up on the wall for me to admire every single day in my room / Man-Cave ! alongside all my other Indy Memorabilia :D ...

I was six years old when Raiders hit the big screen and have been captivated by the Indiana Jones films ever since. For years I have wanted an Indy jacket and looked at many different sites for one. Having finally purchased this one I'm so pleased I didn't accept an inferior jacket from anywhere else.

The Raiders pre-distressed jacket is the real deal. The first time I put it on it looked right, what I recognised from the film. It is an exceptionally well made jacket in a heavy but comfortable hide. The fit which for me was the standard 40' is just right and the distressed leather gives it that authentic film look which will only continue to improve with age.

I wasn't looking specifically for an Indy jacket. I stumbled across this site while simply looking for a brown leather jacket in a classic cut. I thought this looked like a great jacket, especially at the price. Well, it surpassed all my expectations. The cut and quality of this jacket are both fantastic. It is heavy yet soft and comfortable. It's instantly become my favorite jacket. Whether you're looking for an Indy jacket, or not, this is a great buy -- it's not just for cosplay. Shipping was also incredibly fast (all the way from the UK to Vancouver, Canada) and sizing was accurate. All my sports jackets are size 40", so I purchased the same here. Fit is great -- not loose, but with enough space for a sweater underneath.
